Hey, I'm Solange, the Founder and Principal Consultant of In-Translation.
In 2016, In-Translation was born from my desire to translate language — in particular English and Spanish.
But after working across a range of industries and with a diverse range of people from around the world, I realised language wasn't the only barrier. Often, I witnessed delays, challenges and frustrations caused by what got lost 'in translation'.
It wasn't just language that needed translation — but ways of working, industry standards and learning styles.
With that, I uncovered my superpower. I could contribute to purpose-driven businesses by highlighting what often gets lost.
Today, I help government, not-for-profits and businesses connect, collaborate and grow. I do this by seeing the bigger picture, taking a neutral approach to problems and mapping a path toward progress.

More about me...
After my Social Science degree, I worked in job services - the perfect way to marry my interests in society with business. I found I had a knack for implementing client service models while providing wrap-around services. I worked with masterful sales experts, training providers, counsellors and contract managers and learnt what it meant to help someone find meaningful employment. It was more than delivering a government contract - There was social and human value.
Understanding how not-for-profits worked with government contracts in the job services industry helped me appreciate the collaboration I strive for today.
I soon embarked on my dream journey to support our community heroes and work with the police. I started to see a trend that I would often be solving problems, trying to simplify processes and helping others around me, my team, stakeholders and the organisation as a whole. So I took another plunge and started my MBA. What a journey!
During the MBA, I worked with Tech, Finance and Engineering professionals from around the world and learnt the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. I further developed my love for social consciousness and a rich understanding of the impact and potential for the business world to merge with government and not-for-profits to create and influence social change. My journey soon led me to work in conscious donation management in the emergency management sector—another chance to create value with a human social lens.
I have grown a deep appreciation for the effort, volunteer hours and coordination our social carers - charities, not-for-profits and grassroots community organisations undergo to help those most in need. Now, I am on a mission to help these purpose-driven organisations partner with government and business to enhance internal growth and external collaboration.
My passion for the humanities and understanding of how people and societies form and function, merged with business give me the tools to identify gaps, risks and opportunities when business, not-for-profits and government unite.
